About Ryan Haddy

INSPRIATION, DESIGN AND CRAFTSMANSHIP

Inspired by an enjoyment of good, efficient design and craftsmanship, Ryan began learning the process of building while working at a top Southern California Home- Builder, starting out as a laboring assistant to the site supervisor, and eventually becoming a jobsite supervisor/ Superintendent. After 8 years of working in that environment, he came upon the opportunity to branch out into a more independent role in the field of construction. This took him into projects that were less "new construction", and more "re-model" type of projects.

Having a vested personal interest in environmental consciousness, and the impacts made by wasteful building practices, he has sought out practices and methods that re- duce this aspect of the business. Certified by the Sustainable Building Advisor Institute (SBAI), an organization that offers a wealth of resources for the sustainable (Green) Building professional, he has studied and learned to implement those principles and practices into his unique projects. These practices focus on the impact made by building on the physical environment, but also, equally on the impacts made on the individuals that will occupy the spaces we create. This includes, environmental air quality, quality of lighting, material selection and application, and functionality of the spaces we create.

Client Testimonials

"Ryan Haddy is great to work with. I was really looking for someone who could understand my vision and then collaborate with me on how to achieve it. He worked much more as the captain of the team with me as the coach. Other contractors I have worked with try to talk you into their vision, not Ryan; he was hands on and collaborative. He takes great pride in his work and makes sure that everything is done "right", not cutting corners that later have to be repaired. Ryan wasn't happy until I was happy. I can't recommend him enough, he is honest, hard working and very creative."

"I saw Ryan play at a music festival near Lone Pine, he played with his wife Jessica. I as there for the music, not to find a contractor, but the emcee who introduced "The Haddy's" mentioned that Ryan was a contractor. At the end of the music festival I talked to the Haddy's about their really quite wonderful sound and also told them of my woes in deciding between the three contractors in this small town area to select for the construction of an out-building on my property. Ryan said that if I was able to catch him in-between jobs he would come up to build it for me. All of that loose talk around a musical get-together turned out to be the best contractor experience I have ever had. The out-building was unusual in its placement and design and Ryan heard, very clearly, all of the things that I thought I needed in the building. He took into account the opinionated neighbor (a knowledgeable retired fella' whose opinion actually mattered to me), managed the both of us in conversation, all the while figuring out how he would construct the building to our satisfaction."

"He was very enjoyable to be around during the construction process, and thoughtful and his attention to detail in workmanship was noticeable. What he accomplished in the period of time that he did, within the cost-framework that he did and the degree to which he listened to all that we had thrown at him in terms of "musts" was remarkable. I described to him in great detail the specifics in our first meeting. Ryan listened to me carefully, not just pretended to listen to me as many contractors do (I don't know how many times a contractor attempted to finish my sentence or thought to give me the impression he was in alignment with me when in fact he was off base to the greatest degree). Ryan waited until I was done with all of my details, commented on them, suggested two changes to be in alignment with code and then just said he could do it. He completed the project in time-frame, within estimated costs, with no difficulty with the city. I have recommended him to a number of close friends in Laguna Beach."
